Fair Trade UK: Part Deux

When I wrote about People Tree a while back, a commenter suggested I check out Biblico. So I did and just revisited tonight. They have such lovely and simple designs by Spanish designer Nieves Ruiz, they are certified by World Fair Trade Organisation, and they value women. Love me some good Fair Trade design.

At this hour

SconeMother's of an (almost) one year old should not be up at midnight. Yet here I am at 12:04 looking at scone recipes watching Jeopardy and will regret it in the morning when Henry gets up and I have to get ready for church. I did go to bed, two hours ago. But after an hour I got up and perused my Google Reader. I had a nap today and a Chai Tea at dinner so it was a tough go at bed time.

I think I've settled on this recipe from allrecipes.com, not really for any other reason than the picture. I'm not even sure why I'm looking at food, I ate the biggest dinner at an Indian restaurant with friends and am still recovering. We'll see how long it actually takes me to make sure I have all the ingredients, and actually bake these.

In one month

Looking forward to doing a little of this in a month with the CA fam.
Camp

This picture was taken in October of 2008 when Brian and drove to Maine. This is on an island off of Maine, it was a bit chilly, but so wonderful. Little did we know it was our last vacation as "two" because I was pregnant and didn't even know it. Now we get to go celebrate our little man's first birthday creating more memories as "three".

Lots to do today! Yet as I was doing the dishes earlier, I remembered my $3 yard sale find from this week. I stopped what I was doing and got out my very own aqua blue vintage typewriter. Isn't it pretty?

My thought to buy this typewriter was prompted by a friend who had told me she found one at a yard sale. Low and behold one was readily available at a garage sale I went to this past Tuesday evening. (I know right? This town is the only place I have ever been to that has their yard sales on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings.)

Back to it! We are supposed to have a yard sale of our own this Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning, plus I have lots of unfinished items.

The Sick House

We've been the sick house for the past week. Poor Henry woke up last Tuesday morning grouchy and crying. Something was up, but I though he just had a cold. Three sleepless nights later we took him to the doctor and found out that he had an ear infection in one ear, and the beginning of another in the other ear. Enter Amoxicillin and he was feeling a little better by the next day. Oddly enough, this child loves his medicine! I give him a teaspoon twice a day through a syringe, and he chugs it as I give it to him, and cries when it is over.

He is a much happier guy this week.
Mirror
Henry's "I'm gonna get your face!" face. I wish this picture was in focus, but he gets really excited, comes at you as fast as babily possible, and either slimes your nose with drool or presses his forehead to yours, looks in your eyes, and shakes his head back and forth like an "eskimo kiss". It's the best.
Gonna get you face
Our sippy cup success for the day. The doctor has been encouraging us to start a sippy, but he just doesn't really like it, or understand what he is supposed to do. Thankfully he loves his Kleen Kanteen cup that his friend Molly gave him for Christmas.
